Cycle Search

Re and I went to the Suzuki dealer this weekend, so Re could tell me which bike she liked. Mindy and Re saw a bike when they were out the other day, and they both were like 'That is hot'. Courtney came home and told me 'I found the bike you are going to get'.

I figure if she is nice enough to let me have a bike, I can definitely buy the one that she prefers.

It's a 2002-03 Suzuki GSX-R 600. But it has to be the black and silver color. I have to agree that the bike is HOT.

Here it is:

I am SO excited about getting this bike. I can't even tell you how stoked I am. Saving money for the dp/purchase is one of my biggest priorities right now.

Did we crack the code?

Last night, Courtney and I tried something new to get Mik to sleep. We tightly wrapped her up in a blanket (burrito-ed her), and then put her in her crib. Since she couldn't thrash around, she only screamed for about 2-3 minutes, then was deeply asleep. She semi woke two or three times, but each time I just went in and moved some covers off her, and she dropped back off.

We put her in her burrito at about 10 pm. She was asleep until 4 am!!! That is 6 solid hours of sleep. The only drawback is that she was wide awake at 4, and didn't go back to sleep until 6:30 or so. If we can keep her awake and happy until 11 or so, we won't really have to wake up in the middle of the night anymore. I can easily adapt to getting out of bed at 5:00 or 5:30. All I have to do is convince Courtney to let me get in bed at9:00 or 10:00 every night. I don't know if she will go for it, but I can sure try.

More on .Text

Well, now that the damn installation is done, I must say that I am happier with .Text than with Community server. It's faster to load and display entries, and has better skins available. I wonder where I can get more skins at? I found one that I like pretty well, but I'm not in love with it.

First thoughts on .Text

So, I have some thoughts on .Text(the open source blogging engine). Installation and setup is a HUGE pita. Man, that was hard as could be. It took me like 4 tries just to get the damn thing running. I really don't like the architecture of this thing (at least from a user's point of view).

What to do?

I have been thinking about abandoning the journal that I created. I am the only person writing in it, really, and I yearn for a richer feature set. The only thing my journal does that all blogs don't do is allow me to assign various levels of privacy to my rants. All blog engines allow you to make an entry public or private, but I don't think they let you define groups of people that are at different levels of privilege. So, I am thinking of either using TelligentSystems Community Server, or the .Text blogging engine on my site. Alternatively, I could create an MSN Space for free, or try to find some other free blog hosting community.

I think I may go that route. So far, the TelligentSystems software has been TOO slow. It takes forever for each request to process. I don't know what they did wrong, but it don't work so well, ya know?
